Best Nitto tire combination on stock wheels?

I've got a 94 z28 with stock chrome 5spoke 16" wheels. I won the CamaroWiki contest (thanks to everyone here and Nitto Tires) and the prize is a set of 4 Nitto tires.

Wish I could afford a set of 17s to get some nice wide tires, but I can't.

Looks like Nitto offers an NT555R drag radials in 245/50/16, but no street tires for a 16" rim. It'll see the strip occasionally, and will be a weekend driver before long. What should I go with in the front?

The only one I see is the Nitto 450, which is a pretty good tire. Had them on my 96 Camaro a few years back.
The NT01 won't last that long and I wouldn't drive in the rain with them.

So you think NT450 in the front and Nt555R in the back would be a good combination for street/strip?

I have had outstanding luck with the Nitto 555RII's on all 4 corners.

I could spin the DR's through 2nd gear without heating the tires up first. The RII's seem to hook no matter what.

that's strange as they are both the same exact tire, the RII just has the sidewall stiffener.

pcgamer4life: Can you change your order? I would go with the 555RII up front vs the standard 555 since the RII has the same tread block size as the R.
you will get a little less life with the RII, about 15K miles if you aren't too hard on them.
