backspacing for welds?

fixing to pick up some weld rims for the camaro. it is a 97 SS. what backspacing will i need for the back. i am going to go with a 15X8" rim. als i am going to go with a 15X6" rim up front, as i am not a huge fan of skinnies, so what backspacing will i need on those? thanks

Re: backspacing for welds?

Some of this is covered in the FAQ stickied at the top of the "Wheels and Tires" topic listing page.

Rears:

15x8" 5.5" backspace
15x10" 7.5" backspace

Fronts:

15x6" 4.5" backspace

That puts the outside edge of the tire about where the stock front wheels would put them. You could go down to 4" BS. But I think Weld only make the wheels in x.5 backspace, not in x.0, and I'm not even sure it they made a 15x6 4.5" BS.
