Backspacing for Slicks

ok guys, right now I have my et-streets on my car and its not much fun going around a curve at 60mph with wrinkle wall slicks on the rear end, so im gonna get a pair of cragers to put them on so i can swap them on on track days. my question is: will 5" be decent backspacing on an 8" rim for a 26x10x16 tire?

To keep the tires under the fender, you need a 5.5" backspace for a 15x8" wheel. Using a 5" would probably be OK for the track, particularly with a 10" tire.

yes im using 26x10.5x16 ET Street's (not radials), so they are track only. I got a great deal on some crager rims to mount them on.
