Back Rotors Loose???
Back Rotors Loose???
Well I just changed out the rims on my car and I don't think I tightened them down good enough or something in the back. When i drive down the road I hear a CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, etc: When I reach behind the wheel, I can move the rotor back and forth like wiggle it, I tryed tightening them which they were kinda loose but it didn't seem to help the clanking noise. Any Opions would be greatly apprieciated (sp)

seems to me like the wheels are still loose.
does the hub fit on the rim all the way? i wouldn`t drive it like that
Re: Back Rotors Loose???
you need to jack up your car so the wheel is off the ground andmake surethe wheel is fully seated cause it seems that it isnt on all the way. thats really the only thing it could be. good luck.
Re: Back Rotors Loose???
What wheels did you put on the car? The wheels from "newer" model F-Bodies and some Corvettes do not fit correctly on the "early" 4th Gens (93-96). The rear hub is too big, and requires that the inner diameter of the hole in the wheel be lightly sanded so it will clear the hub.
If that's what happened IMMEDIATELY FIX IT. If your rotors are loose at all, the wheel is not on there tight, and your going to have them falling off (or cracking the center of the wheels if you forced them on the hub with the lugs).
If that's what happened IMMEDIATELY FIX IT. If your rotors are loose at all, the wheel is not on there tight, and your going to have them falling off (or cracking the center of the wheels if you forced them on the hub with the lugs).

when i did mine all i did was use a dremmel on high speed with a snading bit and kept going in a circle on the hub. i had to keep moving and kinda fast because i didnt want flat spots.
it was odd but i only had to do this on the passenger rear wheel, all the other ones fit great.
