AR Rebel woes.....PLZ HELP!

I bought a set of AR rebels, 18x9 for the front and 18x 10 for the rear... (W/ GS-D3's w/ 35 sidewall) Of COURSE the back's fit BUT..... THE FRONTS RUB LIKE CRAZY! So I told them to return them. (all 4) The 17x9's had the same offset...

MY question is, THey rub on that black fenderwell protective plastic piece in the front of the the tire, as soon as I turn, they'd rub...

Can I take that piece off? Would it hurt anything? All wheels rub, right?

HELP! I love these wheels and I want to keep them but that rubbing thing pissed me off! IT wasn't a small patch either it was a good 3sq inches! It might get worse when I lower it.. 24mm offset does NOT work in the front. I won't see wheel money like this until next deployment....and I don't really care for any other wheel. (that affordable)...

EDIT: I called the guy in El Paso and told hime to hold on to them until this weekend when I can put my springs in.

Holy hell, 24mm offset is not what you want. Probably something in the 40-60mm range would work alot better

Those are the wheels I'm putting on a future F-Body, so let me know how it works out. And get pictures!

No, all wheels don't rub.... but the tires on incorrectly fitted wheels will "RUB LIKE CRAZY". I told you when you asked in March that it wouldn't work.

It looks like the rebels only come with a 24mm offset which will not work.My ? is can another offset work with this wheel or is it only the 24mm offset that they offer?

Re: AR Rebel woes.....PLZ HELP!

OK, the rebel's aren't going to work and the 18's have no different offset that will work...

I need some help here. And, Injuneer, sorry, I didn't remember you telling me that they wouldn't work. I'm not sayign you didn't say it....I prolly overlooked it.

I like the 5 stars, and I spent $2600 on the wheels. If I could find another set like it that WILL work, for about the same price.

The reason I got them is because not a lot of PPL have them. I'm not getting smoothies or TT2's BECAUSE everyone has them, I'm just trying to be different.

Re: AR Rebel woes.....PLZ HELP!

I guess I'm stuck w/ the wheels now. I was going to return them. THe Guy at this place in Las Cruces told me that it'd be no big deal to return them. The other place is now telling me that they had to pay freight, and two of the tires are already mounted...(I'd have to pay for them)..

Seeing as I have installed my springs this weekend, the rubbing might have gottn worse or it might have minimised...I'll have to find out...

Prolly going to end up fabbing the fenderwell cover to get them to work. Not too much, tho.... (crosses fingers)

Let me know how the Rebels work out for you. I wanted to get a set for my T/A but I can't find anyone that can tell me what size to buy. I've heard alot of stories about them rubbing or sticking out so I want to get it right the first time. By the way my car is lowered too with a Prokit.

Re: AR Rebel woes.....PLZ HELP!

Look in the thread about "Need pix of AR Rebels"....there's a pic of them in the first page on a TA. 17/9 front and 18/10 rear. But the offset for the 17's and 18's are the same... I've herad that they fit TA's better because the fender's flare a bit anyway. They stuck out a bit on mine.
