Anyone else rocking 225 Width Tires?
Anyone else rocking 225 Width Tires?
I destroyed one of my old 17 inch Eagle 077 Wheels so I bought a nice set of 96 Salads.
They came with Goodyear Eagle RS-A 225-60-16 Tires.
I took it for a ride and I can tell the tires spin alot easier.
Old Tire size was 245-45-17.
Should it spin so much more easily with just a 20mm loss in width?
I have mods and they are in my sig.

You added a full 1" to the diameter of the tire (speedo issues) and went to an extremely narrow tire. Its easy to see how you might have some sort of perception the tires "spin a lot easier". The rolling resistance will be less, and the steering effort will be less. Not going to do a lot for handling or straight line traction with a narrow tire like that, but might show a small increase in fuel mileage.
The V6 cars has a base tire that was 215/60-16 on a 7.5" wide wheel, I believe.
The V8 cars had with 235/55-16 (base tires) or 245/50-15 (Z-rated option) on an 8.0" wide wheel. Some people will move up to a 255/50-16 on the stock wheels.
