Another Wheel Spacing Question

I am looking at some rims that would be a good deal, but the rears are 15x8 with 5" of backspacing. Would that be noticeable and look bad? I know I need 5.5" of backspacing, but they are a good deal. What should I do? Oh yeah, these would be on a 95 T/A.

Thanks,
Benji

Re: Another Wheel Spacing Question

Imho, I think that the 5" with a radial tire will hang it out a bit too much...An ET Street type bias ply with less of a sidewall buldge will look better. I had Convo Pros 15x8.5 with s 5" backspace and they looked horrible (my opinion) The 15x8 with a 5" backspace gives you a little better "tuck in", but 5.5" would/does look much better.

Re: Another Wheel Spacing Question

The tires that they have on them now, is the M/T Drag Radial (275/60/15). I just don't want the rims/tires to look bad. It's a killer deal though. It doesn't seem like a 1/2" would make a horribly noticeable difference. I still need more oppinions. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Another Wheel Spacing Question

They will probably stick out 1/2" more than this combo.... a 2" wider sidewall tire (13.1" vs 11.1" for the 275/60-15 ET Drag Radial) on a 2" wider wheel (10" vs 8"), with a 2.5" deeper (7.5" vs 5.0") backspace.

Re: Another Wheel Spacing Question

Thank you for the reply. I am going to just have to put the tires on and see what they look like. I'll then make my decision. I appreciate everything.

Re: Another Wheel Spacing Question

When you do put them on, take a picture and send it to me. I'd like to have some other examples in the database of photos that we use on the FAQ, rather than just the one picture of my own setup.

It would be great to see an actual photo, rather than rely on theoretical calculatons....
