315s on DD?
315s on DD?
Does/has anyone run 315s/rear on their F-body DD? Have you run them in snow and winter type driving? It seems like you can only get 315s in HP Summer or drags.
Any input is welcome.

Re: 315s on DD?
Does DD mean Daily Driver?
If so, yes, I have two 4th gens I drive regularly and both have 315s on 11 inch wheels in the rear. However, I live in FL so don't have the snow issue to comment on

Re: 315s on DD?
AFAIK, you can't get 315/35-17's in an all-season, or M+S rated tire... and, quite frankly, you wouldn't want to.
Even with the right tread design, a 315/35 tire is waaaay too wide for winter use. There's just no way that a tire that wide could bite through snow.
I used to drive my Camaro 365 days a year, but now only occasionally in the winter. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks (215/60-16) on my stock wheels for this purpose. With those tires, the car is surprisingly easy to drive through snow/ice, etc., even with the new 383. By comparison, a 245/50 summer-only or (half-worn) all-season tire choice on a snowy road made the car, well, more an exercise in theoretical physics than anything else. Fun for 5 minutes, but a major PITA if you were actually trying to get somewhere. I couldn't even imagine attempting same with my current 275F/315R combo.
Even if you could get M+S rated 315's, they'd probably cost more than a set of tires and wheels like what I use, and wouldn't be near as effective.
I'm Canadian, eh... so I know what winter's all about. Do yourself a favour (sp - favor
) and get a proper, separate set of snow+ice tires if you really wanna drive it year-round. BTW, I run 315's in the nice weather
