275 vs 315's...much diffrence?

I have 275 nittos on my SS rims...how much more traction will i get if i decided to get 17x11 with 315 nittos

or to save money just put 315's on my rims now.....any opinions?

Dang, I took a second to realize that 2 different people posted above me since you almost have the same screen name and almost the same post count...

Anyway, 315's will definitely stick better than 275's if they are on a properly sized wheel (7x11 or 17x12). Putting a 315 on a 9" wheel isn't going to buy you much if anything as far as grip as the sidewall being pulled in will reduce the contact patch significantly. Also, the 315 is heavier than a 275.

That being said, a number of people have slowed down with more tire. Seems weird, but you will go the fastest with the least amount of tire you can hook up with. The smaller tire has less rolling resistance and less rotating mass.

A big tire might be a band-aid for bad driving however.

Try and get some suspension mods first if your looking for traction, get boxed lcas, relos, and a torque arm that should help out a bit.
