2nd Gen Wheel Adapters

Well I talked my dad into throwing some of the 4th gen rims lying around the shop onto his 76 Camaro he's rebuilding. I brought my 2" spacers out and bolted the 16" Z rims onto the car. They looked real good. My only question is since I'm not letting him use my spacers I need for another project, what would be the recomended spacer size for a second gen. I think the 2" look perfect and seem about right, but does anyone else know if they should be more or less that 2" in width on a second gen?

Thanks,
Jeremy

If it looks good, why would you want something different?

This guy knows a lot about wheels and spacers. All the info on his website deals with 3rd Gen and 4th Gens, but if you send him an e-mail, he might be able to answer your question:

Thanks,

He just wanted to make sure he would be putting the correct size on. It did look good but he wanted to be sure it was correct before forking out the cash that's all.

Re: 2nd Gen Wheel Adapters

Does he still have the stock wheels for the car? If you can measure the width and the backspace, it would be possible to estimate whether the 2" is correct.

Just remember, "width" is measured inside the bead retainer flanges, where the bead of the tire sits. Backspace is measured from the face of the wheel center, where it sits against the axle hub, to the extreme outside edge of the back of the wheel.
