28" Mickey Thompson Street Radials

Anyone running these tires on a 15" rim w/out having to clearance alot to make them fit? Looking for people's personal experience

I don't think the 26" tire will be enough tire for me but I don't want to have to hack my car up trying to make the 28's fit.

Thanks

Cody

The M/T catalog shows the 28x11.5-15 as a 28.0" diameter. Its going to be close. I fit a 28x11.5-15 QTP (28.0") with no problems, other than moving the axle back about 1/4". The inner fenders had already been clearanced for 315/35-17's. But when I put M/T ET Drag 28x10.5-15W's (28.1") on it, I had to cut back the leading edge of the rear bumper cover. With the street radials, you won't have the same growth problems that you would have with a non-radial drag tire.

I believe I've seen a post here from someone running the 28" ET Street Radials. If no one responds, try a "search".

A 275/60/15 should be fine with the right rim spacing.

325/50/15 is a LOT wider.

I have a 95 Formula and run the Bogart welded R/Ts 15x10s and the 275 60 R15 M/T radials fit with no mods..I have adjustable everything under there, but that was not a factor...When you step up to the 325 50s you have to clearance the front inner wheel well because they are wider, but both are 28" tall...

Welp, put my MT 275/60/15's on today and they fit great. They sit directly in the center of the wheel well and I didn't have to grind on the brake calipers at all! They weren't rubbing at all anywhere either. It was fairly close in a couple places near the inner wheel well, so I massaged those areas with a hammer to give me atleast 3/4" clearance everywhere.

The MT's are installed on 15 x 10 draglites w/ 7.5" backspace.

Took these tires out on the street and gezzz do these tires hook!
