2001 z28 rims on 94

what my question is will these rims off an 01 z28 bolt in place of my old ones with out anything to change. Are the bolt patterns the same and will there be any clearance problems with steering.

all 4th gens can interchange wheels/rims without problem.

doesn't matter if they are 16", 17"

steel rim w/ hubcaps, salad shooters, 5spokes, 10 spokes or SS

doesnt that go for 82-02?
i know everything lines up, but i guess the offset might be different for 3rd gens

Nope. 82-92 (3rd generation) offsets for those years are different.

Most people have to relieve the inside of the hub area on the newer wheels to be able to fit them on the back over the older axle hubs. I am surprised no one has mentioned that.

I agree with Shoebox, when I put 2002 wheels on my Z I had to dremel the center hub to make it fit in the rear, so I dremeled all wheels for future rotating tires purposes.

I fit '95 salad shooters on my '02 to mount winter tires and then drag radials.

Ditto that.

Took a couple of minutes of grinding to fit the 01 10-spokes on my 95 back in the day. Not a biggie.

I believe the axle hubs were smaller by 1997, so they should have fit (if yours is a 1997).

My 99z28 wheels fit on my 93 TA fine, without any prep work.

Getting them off the rear was a totally different story. Taking them off you could see where the hub shaved down the wheel.

Not sure if 97 was the change year, but they do interchange from 97-02 with out having to open up for the rears. Also for the Third Gens, not only is the offset different than the 4th gens, the offset is different front to rear, depending on whether you have drums or discs in the rear. Can't you just hear them at GM, "Wow, this will really improve customer approval."

They only "fit fine" if you forced the wheels over the hubs by cranking down on the lugs. Why would you do that?

Actually, the front/rear offset on the 3rd gens are the same, the 16" wheels that came on the 3rd gens had different offsets. the front wheels can be moved to the back but the back wheels will rub the tie rod ends when moved to teh front.
The cars with rear drums came with really skinny shims which I believe was to stop corrosion between certain metals since there were Aluminum and iron drum brakes available for the 3rd gens.
