1st gen rim help

What do I have to do to put 5th or 6th gen Z06 rims on a 1st gen Firebird? It seems like the inside of 5th gen rims are hitting the upper control arms and the tie rod. If any one can help me please let me know.

Most Old RWD Cars have Zero offset wheels.
Your trying to put a Positive offset wheel on a car that needs near zero offsaet. So since the mounting surface is closer to the outside of the wheel you will need wheel spacers (and possible longer studs) to make up the difference.

As noted, you need a fairly thick adapter. Check with Skulte... he knows these cars well:

Thanks guys, I had a feeling I'd need spacers. But I was wondering if they sold disk brake spindels with slightly Tie rod connectors. The 18" rims were just bearly hitting them and i was planning to switch out the control arms for the tube style anyway, and i thenk 19" fronts and 20" backs wouldn't fit under the wheel wells.
Thanks again for the posts.
