18x10.5 Z06 wheels

I currently have 18x9.5 Z06 wheels on 275/35 tire on the back and I want to switch them out for 18x10.5 Z06 wheel on 295/35. Wheels are off a Vette. My question is will I be able to notice a difference in width or do I need to jump in tire size to a 335/30? Also, do I need to modify anything in the rear to make them fit. Thanks.

A 295 will be 3/4" wider than a 275, + or - depending on the specific tires.

A 335 will be 2.3" wider, but its going to be a problem keeping it under the fender. 315's barely fit. 335's are difficult. A 335/30-18 requires at least an 11.5" wide wheel. A 10.5" wheel is too narrow.

Thanks, That's what I figured, a 10.5 is to narrow for a 335. I want the BFG KDW2 tires. That's what I have now and like them a lot. They are not available in 315 that I am aware of. I just want a wider tire in the rear for a little stagered look. looks like I'll go with a 10.5 wheel and 295's.

Where did you find 18 x 11.5" wheels? If that's actually the size, what it the offset?

What tire size fits on what wheel width is determined by the tire manufacturer. Not all manufacturers recommend the same wheel width for the same tire size. In general, a 315/30-18 will work on a 10.5"-11.5" wide wheel.

Whether that tire rubs will depend on the offset of your wheels. Are they factory wheels with factory offset, or are they repro wheels with a different offset?

Speaking of keeping tires under the fender, my drivers side tire always sticks out lol. For whatever reason its offset to the drivers side a bit.

mikemassi- go with a 305-35-18. Like said, all tire manufacturers are different but thats a good size that should fit as far as most tire brands go.

moondance, get an adjustable panhard bar to center your rear end.

Yeah I know I just have to have the cash for that along with other things lol. My tires look pretty stupid on it right now. 275/40/17 up from and 285/35/18 on the rear. So my rear tires have a shorter side wall and look dumb lol.

The body is kept centered over the rear axle by the panhard bar. If the car has been lowered, it will shift the body to one side. If it hasn't been lowered, check the panhard rod for damaged bushings, a bent bar or a a bent mounting arm on the passenger side end.

A 275/40-17 has a 4.33" sidewall

A 285/35-18 had a 3.93" sidewall

A 315/30-18 has a 3.72" sidewall

To keep the rear tire sidewall the same height as the front tires, you would need a 315/35-18. But now you have a rear tire that is 1" larger in diameter than the front tire. That's the problem with staggered wheel diameters.

Yeah I know. Personally I would love a straight 17" set but I havent been able to find anyone wanting all 18s like I have that would swap their 17s for it. Or the whole set for the whole set kinda deal. Thought about putting the same size tire on the 18" rim but not sure if it would fit in the fender not to mention it would throw the speedometer off.
