18X10.5 Z06 wheels??!?
18X10.5 Z06 wheels??!?
I think i heard somewhere that you can fit 18X10.5 z06's on all four corners of a 4th gen f-body, but if i remember correctly, it has to be a certain offset. Anyone know if this is true, if so, what offset do i need, and what size tires should i run. I want to have the same size tire, and wheel all around so i can still rotate them front to back. Thanks in advance
well, the reason to get the 10.5 wheel is to run a 295 tire. Im not sure if the 295 fits properly on the front, so that would cancel out having the same size tire all around, unless you go with the 275 on all 4 corners, which in case, defeats the need of the 10.5 wheel
The reason i am asking is, for appearance
I know the tire will be no wider, however the tire mounted on a rim that is an inch wider will "look" wider. A 275 tire is in all reality 10.83 inches wide (millimeters to inches), so the tire should be plenty wide enough for the 10.5's, what i am wondering is what offset i need in a 10.5 inch rim to fit them on all four corners without having to beat the hell out of something to make it fit, or spacers, etc. Anyone know what offset i need?

The 18x10.5" Z06 wheel has a 58mm offset, giving it just about an 8.0" backspace. That is tooooo much for a 4th Gen. In the back, the 7.93" backspace 17x11 ZR1 wheels require hammering, bracket cutting and recentering the body on MANY cars (yes, I know not ALL). So, you might need a thin spacer to fit them in the back.
In the front, I have the 7.41" backspace 17x9.5" ZR1 wheel. It is very close to being against the steering knuckle. I can guess that you might be able to go to 7.5" backspace with an 18" wheel, since the edge of the rim moves out-ward 1/2", and the steering knuckle is curving back a little. But, the bottom line is that you are probably looking at a 1/2" spacer to fit the 18x10.5" wheel in the front. And, the "frontspace" is going to be about 4.0" with the spacer, putting the outer edge of the wheel/tire pretty much outside the fender. You have to decide if you would like the front tire to stick out 1/2" more than a TT -II shown in this pic:

A caution for anyone using this data.... Performance Wheel Outlet makes their Z06 "replica" wheels in 56mm and 50mm offset. I would assume that the wheels shown in the link posted by 97TA-WS6-Con are the 50mm offset. If they are, that is the only reason they fit without spacers. The factory wheels are 58mm, and will not fit without spacers.
When you buy wheels, you need to specify the diameter, width and offset to be sure they will fit your car.
