I'll be installing my new wheels today.

the rims are: Rear 18 x 10.5 / 54mm and front 17 x 9.5 / 56mm

tires: Rear 295/35/18 and Front 265/40/17

Fronts should be a piece of cake but I'm just wondering how much work the rears will be. Will I need to shave down the bump stops? Will I need the BFH mod on the inner wheel wells? If so anyone have a good page with pics of the most likely problem spots?

Thanks

Re: 18x10.5 wheel fitment
Tough call on the rears. That combo provides a backspace within 1/10th inch of the backspace of the correct 11" wide 50mm offset ZR1's. So you have a slightly smaller chance of having an interference with the inner fender or the jounce bumper bracket. You won't know until you put them on.

Have you looked at the FAQ?

Re: 18x10.5 wheel fitment
Thanks for the reply. I put them on the other day and the inside lip of the rim was only just rubbing the bump stop. I jacked the car up by the rear end and was able to mount the rims after that. Now if I jack the car up and let the wheel come down it won't come down all the way because the rim will hit the bump stop bracket. I'll have to grind down the side of the bump stop that faces thew rim this weekend, hopefully I'll have enough clearance after that. The fender clearance appears to be just right.

You wouldn't happen to have any pics would you?????

What brand tire did you use?????

I have a set of C6 style wheels sitting in my garage and I have been too chicken to put tires on them yet. My wheel dimmensions are exactly the same as yours. I am curious how far the rears stick out. It doesn't sound like you needed the BFH or to roll the fenders. That is very encouraging.

TIA

What kind of modifications do you have to do to get the c6 rims to fit?

To fit on what car?
Are you talking about OEM C6 wheels, or the "C6 style" wheels mentioned by JWBerk94Z?

C6 OEM:

Front: 18x8.5 58mm offset
Rear: 19x10 79mm offset

If so, there is a post in the FAQ showing an install and describing the required mods, including large spacers for the rear.

If they aren't OEM wheels, you need to provide the dimensions, including offset.

I am sure you can get the replicas from most places that sell aftermarket rims. I got mine on ebay. They are all over ebay, and you can find a few sets of actual C6 rims too.

Re: 18x10.5 wheel fitment
When I did my wheels the same size as yours I had to completely cut out the bumper bracket and do the BFH mod. I didnt get many pictures of everything, but I have final pictures of my car with the wheels on. I was hoping mine would go like yours but no such luck.

How about a link to some pics or some sent to jwberk@adelphia.net, please. I tried to check them out on your cardomain page, but I can't get it to work.

What do you mean bumper bracket??

TIA
