18 x 10.5 replica y2k's

I currently run 17 x 8.5 Y2K Corvette rims, 58mm backspacing on all 4 corners. I've been looking at the 18 X 10.5 Y2K replicas on OE Wheels LLC. They are listed as having a 56mm offset. My plan is to run the 18 x 10.5's on the rear with a 295/35/18 tire. I am pretty sure this combo would fit and look great, at least I would like it to anyway! Currently I have stock ride height w/ stock springs.

I was just wanting to know if anyone has ran this set up? Also are there any pictures available? Does O.E. Wheels make a good wheel?

A 10.5" wide wheel with a 56mm offset will have about a 7.9" backspace. That puts the indside edge of the tire very close to the inner fender liner, and the inner edge of the rim very close to the projecting edge of the jounce bumper bracket. If you jack the car, the edge of the rim might catch on the bracket as the wheel drops. The "cure" is simply to cut the projecting edge of the bracket off, and to hammer the inner fender a bit - IF - it does rub.

Over the years, I have seen people put wheels with that dimension on 4th Gens - 1/2 of them have rubbing and the other 1/2 don't. Seems to be a large variation in body assembly tolerances. I run 11" wide 50mm offset wheels, with a 7.93" backspace, and had to cut the bracket and hammer the inner fenders.

You could also solve the problem with a 1/4" spacer, but that may require longer studs, and is not the best option for vehicles subject to extreme loading - e.g. big RPM clutch dumps on sticky tires on a sticky track.

My car's jounce bumper and bracket are already removed. The previous owner had K-Sport GT lowering springs on it, and I guess they needed to be removed? I've read other posts about the hammering of the inner fender, and it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. I would like to have that "just right" look, where the outside of the tire sets just a tad inside the outer fender. Like you said, though, it may fit without any issues. I'll just have to be patient and see if an opportunity comes along to test fit some.

The Y2k's came on the car when I bought it. They pretty cool, but I have to admit I'm a sucker for the chrome ZR1's. I just thought it would be cheaper to replace two wheels/tires vs. all four. Whatever the case, I'm ready for some wider meats out back!

The part that catches includes the sheet metal on the inner fender where the jounce bumper mounts, not just the jounce bumper.

Thanks for the great pics. That helps a lot. I'll keep you posted on what I decide. I also had the thought of just getting the 17 x 9.5 replicas (54mm offset, 7.38" backspace) and running 285/40/17's on the rears. There probably aren't any fitment issues with this set up, and that would probably be wide enough for me. Hmmm...

I've run 17 x 9.5" 49mm offset on all 4 corners with no problem, other than a minor rubbing in the front when the front wheels were turned all the way to the side and the car hit a bump. Backs were no problem at all.
