17x11 ZR1s need pictures please...
I'm looking into getting some 17x11 silver ZR1s for the rear of my Formula. I know that this has been beat to death but a search didn't help a lot. I understand that we should use the 50mm offset, but I also know that a 36mm offset is made as well. Just wanted to see what each offset looks like on our cars. I don't want to bang up the inside of my fenderwell if I can help it. I was also told that non-lowered cars (like mine) can use the 36mm. I just don't want the tire, which will be a 315 BFG DR, to hang out too much...Thanks in advance for any pictures of both offsets on cars...

17x11 50mm offset, with BFG 315/35-17 Drag Radials:

You might want to try a "search" on the "Appearance" forum. About a year ago, before they split up into the "Wheels & Tires" forum, there was a fairly long thread on "Appearance", with photos showing both the 50mm and 36mm offset 17x11's on Firebirds, and the general consensus was that the 36mm wheels stuck out too far.

You don't have to eliminate the jounce bumpers. Just cut/grind off the edge of the mounting bracket that sticks out from the inner fender:

Shoot a little rubberized undercoat on it after you are done.

go to my homepage. 50mm offset, I had to do a little pounding and had to cut area were bump stops were.
