10 spoke SS wheels on a 94 vert?
Re: 10 spoke SS wheels on a 94 vert?
You will probalby have a problem fitting them over the hubs on the rear axles. Your 94 has a larger hub diameter in the back than in the front (as do all F-Bodies up to mid-96). The solution is to lightly sand or grind the inside diameter of the hub hole in the rear of the wheels.
There are also some websites like AFS that indicate you can not use 17" wheels on a 4th Gen convertible. This is simply incorrect information. There are large numbers of people running 17" wheels on the convertibles.

Well.... GM did not use 17" wheels on the WS6 and SS convertibles, so I suspect AFS just assumed they aren't supposed to be used. GM probably felt the thinner sidewall tires might ride a bit harsh with the heavier weight of the convertibles. I have a very good friend who had real GM ZR1 wheels on his 30th SS convertible.... 17x9.5 in the front and 17x11 in the back, and they fit better in the back than the same wheels fit on my 94 Formula coupe.
AFS also says you should use the 38mm offset 17x11 wheels on the T/A, but not on other 4th Gen F-Bodies. The 38mm offset wheels stick out too far on the T/A's just like they do on the other 4th Gens.
