****is This A Good Deal????****

I have a buddy of mine that has his car in the shop getting "who knows what" done to it and it won't be out for awhile. He has a brand new set of CHROME ZR-1 Style wheels (17x11"s and 17x9.5"s) with BF Goodrich Comp TA tires all the way around. The tires have approximatly 300 miles on them he tells me , and he had them remounted on the new chrome wheels because his others where just painted not chrome. He said he would sell me EVERYTHING for $2,700. Here's what it comes with:

All four chrome ZR-1 Wheels (Brand new never been on the road)
Chrome center caps
Lug nuts WITH chrome lug nut covers
Tires wrapped in BF Goodrich Comp TA's with approx. 300 miles on them.

Everythign is ready to just bolt on. Is this a good deal. I've tried pricing everythign individually together and it seems like it'll be about the same plus i don't have to pay shipping because they're already here. Tell me what you guys think!!??????

AFS sells the chrome 9.5/11" ZR1 combo - mounted and balanced - with Dunlop tires for $2,198. Yes its extra for the shipping, caps and lugs, but not $500. Your price sounds high.

The Comp T/A's are a discontinued, older style tire. You should be able to find a set of chrome ZR1's on eBay for less than $1,000 and Tire Rack will sell you 275/315 BFG KD's for less than $1,000. Throw in shipping, caps, lugs, mounting and balancing, and you are still way under $2,700.

Your friend is ripping you man. Chrome ZR1s on ebay new are going for $700-$800 I believe and tires cost another $700 for a good set, not cheapo tires. Hell for what he wants just buy a set of Fikse FM5s and buy generic tires for them.

Kind of what I was going to say. I've seen much more desirable wheels go for that price on the board.

Re: ****is This A Good Deal????****

if you can get 4 "good" tires for 700, let me know...specially when you can find some real tires, not khumos or falkens. i'm spending 800 for some semi-cheap yokos that are w rated...not even z rated. they are 175 a piece, plus tax/shipping/mount/balancing. if you can find those tires for under a grand, you're doing something right. the cheapest tire bfg has is 150 per tire...equals 900 to me.

granted, the wheels are new, they are worth probably about 1500. are they GM or aftermarkets? if aftermarkets, probably about a grand shipped. the tires are used on the other hand, so i wouldnt spend more than about 2 grand on the setup...

you could get some wrapped HREs for that price. maybe not the tires/sizes you wanted, but the wheels would look awesome

$150x4 = $600, not $900. They discontinued the tires I have I guess cause tirerack doesn't have them anymore. I am running firestone firehawk sz50ep, all the tirerack ratings were high 8's-9's. On ebay you can get a set of michilin or good years for $700.
