WTB: Cheap beater 4cyl car.

I need a car to make the commute to work and back and im tired of driving my gas hog 50 miles a day. What you got and how much do you want? AC has to work and its gotta be road worthy for a 50 mile drive every day.

How about something like um....

03 Yamaha R1 Red/Black

j/k, I probably wouldn't want to commute in a city like houston or Dallas on a bike.

I had a '97 Sentra that I commuted in for a while. The damn thing was terrible to drive. When you end up spending a couple of hours a day with only 90hp at your disposal, the frustration factor increases dramatically, so be advised...

Got a '94 Celica for $3000. I'm about 300 miles from you though.

It's great on gas but i've been down that road before and was involved in a hit and run.... guy left me for dead on 183 at 730 in the morning. I could always drive my wifes car but I wanna get her something new. Probably just going to keep her car and get her a new Tahoe or something....

I TOTALLY believe that. The people that commute in the morning are horrendous drivers. I luckily (well, kinda) have to be at work at 5:45 in the morning so I never deal with the bad traffic! I plan on having a bike here within the next 6 months, and I think the only time I'll ride to work would be on a Sat or Sun. I drive from the White Rock lake area to 30/360 in Arlington. I bought my Maxima for the commute too, the camaro just wasn't cutting it in traffic if there was any.

Re: WTB: Cheap beater 4cyl car.

I have a '97 Saturn with 156,000 very reliable miles that I will be selling as soon as I get a new daily driver. It's a 5-speed that gets just over 30 mpg on the highway. AC works.

$1,400.

Since the pictures were taken, I've put some newer tires on the front with some tread. KBB private party puts it at close to 3k.
