what was your disappointing run?
Judging by the mods listed in your sig, I would say 14.2-13.9 would be the norm. If you got any worse then let us know what you did while staging and then driving..
Misconception #1 about launching a stock auto car - you have to hold the brake with one foot and give it gas with the other before you leave the light!
This is of course wrong. The best method would be to stage up.. at the most, on a stock car with street tires, spin or dry hop but you shouldnt smoke the tires or spin them for more than 4 sec. Once you stage up, hold the brake, hover your other foot over the gas but dont touch it... when you see the last yellow, you should simultaneously release the brake and floor the gas. This should set the to squat and launch. It will shock the TC and get you a few hundred more stall than stock.
Misconception #2 about launching a stock auto car - you have to put it in 3 or you have to change the gears like its a stick!
Again, this is incorrect form. Leave the gear selector in OD (4th). The 4L60E transmission is electronically controlled. It will shift faster than you and it doesnt hurt it to be in 4th or 3rd but you shouldnt be driving around in 3rd anyways.. so leave it in 4th.
