[Texas] What's it like to live in Texas?
Well, I guess that settles it. We're going to find out how the boys work remotely. BTW Jason, last Podcast you said you loved winter. Where are you going to run that snowmobile in TX?? Best of fortune to you and your family!
Jason, your thread was perfect timing. I'm flying into Austin June 30th to check it out for myself. My brother lives in Round Rock and loves it there. He says he's got a job interview already set up for me, so we'll see what happens.
its no different than getting a local interview except for the longer travel. Of course tehy are probably a bit more selective in the preinterview process so they dont have to fly in a bunch of people.
No matter were you move to here, it is way safer than any part of detroit. I have lived here for 24 years, and I will never leave. As for jobs, even with the rest of the US having it tough the Texas economy is good. Companies from all over the US are moving to Texas.
No state income tax. Think about that, Look at what you bring home now, then add what you pay in state income tax, thats what 100 plus per check in your bank for your family? Yes we have crime, but nowere near what goes on in detriot. Good schools, good people. I live in Carrollton, it is just north of Dallas (a subburb) It puts me close to everything. Traffic is a bee-och somtimes. But over all a very good place to live.

It is safer here because we like our guns in Texas. In most states, you are strange if you like guns. But in Texas, you are strange if you do NOT like guns
Texas was the last state to enter the "recession" and the first state out of it.
