true duals in grayson area

couple of questions here. i want a true dual set up with x pipe into a bullet style muffler. problem is don't have the $$$ for longtubes yet. would this set up be pointless if its running off the stock manifolds till i get the funding. i know the facts, y pipe blows and the 3 inch is crimped pretty bad over the axle so i'm thinking it will. current set up is no cat cut out where cat was and a blowmaster muffler. Next anyone have something like this done in the grayson area. North of dallas. (scubasteve you out there i know you have this and your from sherman)

Re: true duals in grayson area

hey, i think it would be good for a little hp, although a couple things i have learned with mine. I do have true duals over the axle on jet hot longtubes ect..., i originally had bullits, they are crap for performance. I changed to a flowmaster race 40, not the one yoou see everyday, this is a real flowmaster, i have them behind the axle in the little space before the bumper, and it was a noticable power gain from the bullit to the flowmaster. But i would call flowmasters tech number and ask them for the muffler. Either a 10 series or the small super 40 race, something like that. case size is somerthing around 7" wide and 10" long, maybe 14" long including the necks. But they have the deep v8 rumble and do not sound like a farm truck going down the road.

also pics of my car should be on texasfbody.com, now we have pics of the bullits sound clip of the flowmasters and pics of the flowmasters before i fitted them in their proper location.

also do a search for truedualws6 here on the board. he has had a few differant true dual setups, and like me he didnt do the dump under the car thing.

yea, the wheels looked pretty good about 10 years ago, when they still had a shine, i have 18" zo6's all around it now. car also runs a little better. the burnout was also with drag radials. if i remember correctly i let off towards the end, but yea it was something like 1/4 mile or so. next time i replace tires it will be a better one as i have close to 200 more hp.

we are out of Kosse, about 45 mins south east of Waco. pretty rural around here. come down sometime we can get you on the web, have a fun day at the local track, $12 run what you brung all nite, pretty much anyway.

critter:

what's up? It's cody pope from denison (white s10 w/ lt1). The muffler shop across from pizza hut delivery on woodard and 91 is dirt cheap on exhaust stuff.

I would do all the exhaust at once (headers, duals, cutouts, etc.). I'm running a dual setup (no cats w/ 40 series flows) on stock manifolds. I'm saving $ for headers and cutouts. I wish I would have just done it right the first time. Now I'm gonna have to pay for exhaust shop fees twice.
