Texas Motorplex TODAY

Motorplex is open today from 10 am to 5 pm for test n tune.

I checked the calender but nothing listed. Troy has been out there several times this month and none have been listed.

I am heading out there and so is Troy (98slammedGMC).

Danny (QuicksilverT/A) is gonna try and make it if he can get a baby sitter for his daughter also.

I'll be in a 97 green T/A with Welds in case anybody wants to stop by and say hey, feel free to do so.

Lloyd

back from the track.

I ran 11.41 @ 117 MPH (1.644 60 ft, 7.27 @ 94.88 1/8 mile) and let off a lil before the end since I was worried about going faster that 11.50 and getting booted from the track for no cage.

They told me to slow it down or leave.

I made a few more passes with better 60 fts (1.60, 1.61, 1.60) and 1/8 miles results (7.21, 7.23, 7.17 @ 95.28, 95.19, 95.69 MPH) and then let off after the 1/8 mile marker. From the "internet racing" aspect, I coulda, woulda, shoulda ran some 11.30's but I do not have a 11.3x time slip since I never ran it full out in the 1/4 mile again.

As it is, I still have an 11.40 car and not an 11.30 car. I have no plans of a roll bar so that is probably the last time the car will go to the Motorplex (Only 1/4 mile track around here) since it is not much fun letting off before the end of the track.

Looks like it will be Kennedale from now on. I hope they allow 11.30/11.20 passes with no cage. I am not sure where the "roll bar" rule is at on that track.

I need to raise the shift points higher then where they are (6100 RPM) and get an aftermarket TQ arm. After these mods, NOS is the next step. Not sure where I can run the car then since a roll bar/cage is NOT going in my car.

Wish I would have seen this earlier, I would have come out. Just curious but why are you so against a roll bar/cage?

I feel the car is really too nice/clean to install a cage.

It is just a nice street car and cruiser.

It will never be fast due to all of its weight.

I have started with street cars before and ended up removing weight, making sacrifices, etc, once you start, there is no stopping since the car keeps getting faster. before you know it, you end up with a car 2 tenths faster at the track but one that is not as fun to driv/cruise.

Since I am older now, I wanna make sure the car keeps everything (A/C, heater, bumper supports, carpet, sound deadener, 12 disc CD changer, etc.

I will probably end up doing the TQ arm and bumping shift points but probably sell the car before NOS is installed as I pretty much KNOW I will not find a track to make more than one pass on with no cage.

I'll let the next guy install a cage and NOS.

Lloyd, Isn't Kennedale (Texas Raceway) still an eighth-mile track?

3760 lbs with me in it.

I installed some 15 x 10 and 15 x 3.5 Welds to loose weight but also added weight with a Ford 8.8 rear since last time out when it weight 3820 lbs.

AdioSS, I just caught on to your Kennedale being 1/8 mile post.

Anyone know the ET rule at kennedale for having a cage?

Hopefully 6.99 or faster.

7.49 is what it was when the NHRA went by their old "11.99 or faster required a rollbar" rule. So it probably is 6.99.
