speaker install

I just purchased a system off of a buddy of mine and want to get it installed. I talked to Best Buy and they wanted something crazy like $300 to install two 10" subs, a 2 channel amp, a pair of speakers and a head unit.

I then cruised over to Jack's Stereo and they quoted me around $120 for everything...which is better...

If I can't find somebody who knows what they're doing then I'll just have Jack's install it. Can anyone advise someone or some place? I'm in Waco, Texas...

Find out if the guys at Jack's are MECP (I thnk that's the right acronym) certified. If so, you shouldn't have any worries. In all honesty, the 17 year old working at Best Buy probably doesn't know much more than the 17year old at Jacks. It's not rocket science, just make sure they fuse it.

I'd do it, but I'm down here. It is pretty straightforward though. Or you don't have time? Takes awhile.

I don't have time with hard classes and a fiance I visit every weekend. I just want to drop it off somewhere or have someone come do it for me...get it knocked out in a few hours...

If I wasn't back in school for the spring and my tools weren't in Dallas I'd do it for you. I've done a good amount of these things. It's not too hard, just time consuming and knowledge of what wires do what

Good luck, 120 doesn't sound too bad.

Are you at aTm? My parents live in Navasota and I'm down that way all the time...

Yep. Class of 2005. I'll be here for at least another year and a half though If you're ever down here on a wed or fri you should come hang out with the crowd here around town. There's a few pretty nice F-bodies.

I work at best buy as an installer and i don't have my MECP yet....but will have it next month....I think that the 120 bucks sounds like a good deal....seems like a lot of work.....i could probably do it in about 2 hours.....
