so how hard is an opti?

Okay, so I was told today that the reason my car is stumbling from 1100-2000 rpm is the opti. LT-I tech page says autozone has one for $130. I got an estimate for $1000 to do it today and that just seems a little high, even with a new delco unit. So I think I am goin to try this myself. Anyone have any suggestions or advice? most of my experience is on old Pontiac V-8's and TPI motors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw some step by steps at streetillusionsracing.com last night and it looks more time consuming than anything. I got more time than money! I'll give it a shot and if I cant get it back together I'll worry about it then. Thanks for the info.
