Scantool needed.... Service Engine Soon Light

Anyone in San Antonio that can pull codes for me? Maybe at the Tues night meet? I have an SES light that came on out of the blue.

Richard is it for the formie? If so let me know when you are at/out of work. I have my autotap and we can meet somewhere if that would be easier or sometime during my lunch or something. Just let me know.

Thanks man. Yeah its the formie. Its running ok, but the SES light just came on while I was on the freeway with the cruise set to 55. Maybe the car isn't used to being driven so slow.

After work would be better for me. Where would be a good place to meet for you? Otherwise tomorrow night is fine too.

Crossroads mall would be cool. I need to get some gas for the car anyway and that's where I usually get it around that area. What time are you getting out?

Thanks man,

I cut out of here (USAA) at 5'ish usually, so crossroads mall would be fine. How about in the Dave and Busters parking lot since it's smaller...say...5:15-5:30? I hope it's just a cheap sensor.

You can call me at 274-0041 if you are running behind or whatnot.

Ah, you're back to normal hours I see. Yeah that works fine. I'll see you out there around then. I should be there already. I'm in the beater grey grand am. I'll park out in the open so the car is noticeable.

Grand Am is the beater and with gas prices as high as they are and the TA eating as much gas as it does it doesn't come out to play much anymore. It's more of a cruise mobile now. I still need to get the 12 bolt put in but work has not allowed any time for me to make weekend plans. Too much going on, you know how it is.

Yeah, the gas prices do suck and they are only going to get worse through the summer. I wont be surprised if they hit $2/gal before the end of the year. I might be MAD, but not surprised. haha.

Autozone will pull codes for free , and almost anybody on here can walk you through the diagnostic process. Don't take a code for face value !! They can be set for abnormal reasons. The best thing to do is clear the code ( unless you have a scanner and can access a data stream ) and see if it re-occures , if it does , then work on the diagnostic tree to see what component has failed. If it doesn't , then it was a gremlin !!

A BIG thanks to Ben for hooking me up. It looks like I've got at least one lazy O2 sensor.
