I went as well. It was really fun, and during the time trials an 82 TA ran a 10.6 @ 126mph!!

The goodie bag was cool too! " I'm wearing my hat right now

I was there all day and now I am glowing ear to ear. There wer some really sweet cars there. I also enjoyed watching the inexperienced drivers run 15s in 13 sec cars or the poor guy that launched in reverse. It was great to see all the F-bodys together in one place. I didn't take my cars but now I wish I had. I figured there would so many 9,10, and 11sec car there that my low 12sec car would be insignificant.

Did he blow his motor? I know he smoked his tires down to nothing, and was planning to drive home on his slicks.

I saw his nitrous setup, and it looked pretty scary. It was a bottle with a line to a solenoid, and then a line that ran into the rubber elbo. a completly dry system with no safeguards at all!

He said his temp guage went max out when he sprayed during the burnout contest. I was worried that he warped his heads, or worse like bad detonation. Spraying with a maxed out temp guage can never be good !!

So, are you sure he blew the motor?

Thomas.

Sorry I wasn't clearer.
I'm talking about another guy who was burning out before a run. He went to clean his tires, bogged and BAYYYAAAAM.

I heard about the guy who started in reverse.....thankfully I was still in the staging lanes and not behind him!! I don't know about the ret of you, but my car ran like it was towing a trailer full of bricks.....the heat just killed it!!!!!!!!!!
I was the black 97 with the black rims doing a string of 14.4sec times. Stupid car ran faster bone stock!!!

LOL ... yea, I was actually standing right next to the guy when he took off in reverse. Luckily, he realized it right after he gave it the gas and didn't go but 10-15 feet in reverse. I don't remember the vehicle type, but I think it was a van or something? It was white anyway .....

My car also took a beating from the heat. My best run was a 14.2 @ 99.8mph. But that's with a .9 rt and a 2.3 60ft

Guess I need to work on my launches quite a bit.

Thomas.
