Thumbs up Roll Call ! How many of you made it to the Auto Show in Motion this weekend ?

I had a blast !

Here's what I did during the 10:30 to 4:30 shift:

  • Impala SS (I actually liked it ! )
  • Gran Prix GTP Comp G (Not as comfortable as the Impy. )
  • Cadillac CTS (Feels like the new Chevy trucks in terms on the view out the windshield - big, arched fenders )
  • Corvette Z06 (6 speed, 405 HP = )

  • Silverado SS (Another suprise ! Yeah, it's not as fast as a Lightning, but damn did it feel good to sit in & drive ! )
  • Dodge Quad Cab Hemi (!) ( Can I do a commercial now ? )
  • Escalade EXT (Yo, Bling Bling ! (( Nice truck, though.) )

  • Yukon Denali (nice ! Of course, for a MSRP in the low 50's, I believe, it dam well better be !! )
  • Yukon XL w/ Quadrasteer (3/4 ton - I loved watching the rear wheels turn as my wife was driving )
  • TrailBlazer EXT (4.3 , I )

  • Hummer H2 !! (off road course) No Soccer Mom should be without one !
Actually, this was another surprise - it was easy to drive and it made me feel confident thru the offroad course.
Still basically a Z71 in a different skin, however.

  • Quad Cab ¾ ton 4 wheel drive GMC p/u w/ the Duramax diesel ! (Quiet on the inside, decent pep, and fancy leather seats - nicer than my car !! )

Not a bad day's work ...

I did run into Morgan SS - if anybody else was out there I missed ya.

Whats up Britt, I was surprised at how many people I saw out there after being in Htown for only a month, I guess I'm good at tracking down the car enthusiasts
I was with a buddy out there, we both thought the H2 was wayyyy overrated, not a lot of legroom in the back and the gas mileage is horrible, I mean it looks good but I'm just not a big fan, and on the other side of the spectrum the Z06 was awesome! I spun all the way around the track, literally, I got sideways after the straight away, it was fun, but get this, the Z06s all had Texas inspection stickers so I was like WTF? I asked the guy and he said all the Z06s were loaner cars from a local dealership and were being returned Monday, now would anyone really want a vette that been abused for 4 days straight, and I mean abused, but I guess that shows how strong the LS1 really is. Give me a PM sometime Britt, later

the earlier the better, they didnt hassle me about showing up early, the wait was like 45 min for the H2 and 45 min for the vette and was growing, I showed up at ten.

I signed up for Sat. but didn't go after I found out that two of the cars I wanted to drive were "no shows".

Oh, by the way, that LS6 not LS1.

Then I would have had 2 of them instead of my measly one !

You couldn't beat the price of this shin-dig, that's for sure !!

Hey -

Check your PM.

Also, did you ever get the pics or vids loaded ?

I followed your LS1.com thread "into the sunset" , but never saw anything.

Later !

No problem for me, but I was planning on taking my wife and kids there, too... I'd like to see her take a Z06 for a spin.

Maybe I'd be better off just going with a buddy.

I went and had a blast. I got there early and didn't even have to wait in line for the Z06 or any other cars, including the H2. I had that Z06 sideways, screeming and screeching for the two laps. It was awesome! That cars handling is remarkable.

The whole event was great, we had a lot of fun there.

I have heard that the norm is one lap but there was nobody there at 8:30-9:00am on friday, when we arrived. The instructors were just sitting around waiting for someone to show up. I wish that I could have driven longer too. I had so much fun that I would be willing to pay good money to do it longer and more often.

May be a good business idea for somebody with a lot of money. I know that I would go for sure. I would love to try some other cool cars as well like a Viper or Porsche at the track.

Anyways, next time go in the morning on a weekday and you will be able to have your pick of cars to drive with no lines. I will definitely be there again next time.

i went, and finally got to see the ssr. drove the Cadillac ESV, the GMC duramax, and the Impala SS. i think the 94-96 were faster, but its not like i was able to get into the boost, so who knows. i have no need for a tuck or SUV, but i liked the Caddy and the GMC
BTW, where is this pizza place?
