Riverside Dr. in Austin = Rice
Man, what's the deal with those guys lately?
If you drive anywhere on Riverside between Congress and Montopolis on the east side, there are HORDES of them! All sitting around in the parking lot and playing crappy music.
I wish there were more F-bodies out there putting them in their place...... never see any, though.

Hey I know what you're talking about man. I'm always down there at least for a little while on Sat. nights looking for hondas to pick on. You might've seen me before, I drive a maroon 95 Z28 with a bra on stock wheels. I'm usually cruisin with my buddies in their 5.0s. What do you drive, Ill keep an eye out for you.

My wife and I passed through Austin last weekend on the way to Schlitterbahn and we stopped and had lunch down on 1st street at a little Mexican restaurant called El Mercado and we traveled down Riverside a ways.
I noticed Austin as a whole seemed to be eat up with rice. It is a real shame, since I really enjoyed living in Austin during college days.

I know exactly what you guys are talking about with regards to all the "Rice" vehicles around here. I have a bone stock '03 M6 Acura CL Type-S and a heavily modified '95 M6 383 Z28. Believe it or not, more people jack with me in the CL-S than in the Z28! In fact, only an occasional 5.0, cobra, or another F-Body will even acknowledge me in the Z28. I guess the "rice" crew just look for other "slow" cars to mess with.
What really ticks me off is all the cool hangouts I used to remember got harassed by the locals. We were constantly being told we couldn't "park" and congregate in a group fashion. I guess the locals are a little more scared of the "thug" personas that many ricers portray. I miss the local hangouts. Now that I've been out of the loop for a while, I don't even know where to go.
