Need gear installer in Rockwall/Wylie area
I would like to change gears in my car this weekend.
I have a 95 Formula A4 that currently has some really loud 4.10:1 gears in it. I have a set of 3.42:1 gears that I want to put in, too. Those 4.10:1 gears are way too tall for this auto tranny.
I contacted Jason of TDP, but he's all tied up for a few weeks. Jason put 4.10:1 gears in my '94 Firehawk and put 4.10:1 gears in my turbo Astro van, so I know his work. I wouldn't mind having Jason do the swap, but lives on the other side of the globe from me. Plus I want to do the swap this weekend.... the whining is killing me
If you can do gears or know of someone in the Wylie/Rockwall area that will do a really good job, let me know. I don't want to do this twice.

if i was you id sell your rear end whole and buy a 6 speed rear end....much easier and will be a lot cheaper
6 speed guys have 3.42 rear ends and love 4.10's...plus if you get their stock rear it wont make any noise

Bump
Don't want to trade entire axle/rear combo because former owner told me he installed an Auburn diff when the gears went it.
Plus... who on earth would want to swap axles with someone that is complaining about a set of loud gears?

Still looking
I still need someone to swap-out these gears.... please
I'll go anywhere in the North-East quadrant of the metroplex.
I'll do it myself, if I have to. If anyone knows of a thread that shows me how to do it, and what tools I'll need, point me to it.

I ended up waiting for Jason. He just finished moving his shop and found time this afteroon to do the swap. I didn't want to drive the 80 miles to his shop, but I didn't really trust anyone else.
Jason found the gears in good shape, but the bearings were all pretty worn. The diff was shimmed a bit too tight, too. He even sent someone out to get brake pads when he discovered my pads were bad.
He even let my son pay Halo 3 in the waiting room.
The rear was whisper-quiet on the way home. I'm very happy.
