My experiences at the Auto Show in Motion today
My experiences at the Auto Show in Motion today
The Auto Show in Motion was a GM sponsored event in Grand Prairie for those of you who don't know, and you get to test drive a whole lot of cars and it is all free. I wrote about my experiences and reviewed each car I drove on the SMU Car Club message board. This isn't a site plug (I don't want anyone joining the message board!), I just don't want to have to copy and paste everything. It's a long read, but I was at this event 8 hours, so I had a lot to write about. GM really does have some superior cars compared to the competition.

I dont want to sound like a pr!ck.. but you need to learn to drive..
and lose the childish "mans car" and what not ideas.. Neons are not bad.. SRT4 will hand you your azz..
Take your parents cars out of your sig.. really.. unless you drive them all the time..
Get into some local SCCA and go to the Track in Ennis and get some 1/4 runs in.. learn to drive.. You will benefit from it much more in the future..
I went to the autoshow last winter and am going this week..
I look forward to romping on the cars again..

Damn dude if you can't drive a stick don't drive the manual vette. **** i can't believe you had any complaints about that car...no offense but i think it was probably more of a driver issue. I went to the show too and also drove the vette and freaking loved it! I agree with you though about the GTO, huge mistake having it with all the other passenger cars.
Re: My experiences at the Auto Show in Motion today
Went to the Houston ASIM and it was pretty fun. Went with my woman. She only took out a few cones one her best run.. But hey, now she is telling me we have to go to the strip soon! hehe
The Cobalt SS really was done up nicely with its factory boost gauge.. not too shabby for what it is.. handled ok.. and was decently peppy off the line..
The GTO really needed that LS2 to shine. Its not too bad. You can feel the weight of the car but its not so detached that you can still push it fairly hard and still have good feedback..
The Vettes course was less cramped than last time allowing for the car to really show its abilities. The previous course was too cramped and caused the entire test drive to be essentially a drift show.. not good realistically no matter how much fun it is.. This time the car finally felt planted.. I left with a better impression of the car..
On the GTO Dyno/ 1/4 mile test run I ran a 13.00@108 with 325rwhp in the GTO and my girl ran a 13.04@108 with 327rwhp. Not too shabby. The weather really wasnt great for 12's to be had appearantly.. grrr... (I had heard it ran a 12.87 last week in Dallas from that other post.. It was confirmed by the guy working the booth.. I had run the fastest today..)
After these cars we went and did the Convertable SAAB 9-3.. not very exciting.. my girl actually got it to start reading out that there was an error with the air bags..
Then the SSR which was the only car that hit me.. during one of the turns, a bar on the inside of the door panel hit my elbow. Can we say cramped? This car is for the absolutely tiny people of this planet..
Finally the H2 just to get my girl to do it.. for grins.. thats about all that can be said about this thing.. its not the most impressive thing in the world.. too damn slow..

Yea i saw the GTO dyno a 12.88 @108 at around 5 oclock. Wish i could have given it a run. If i could go back i would have given the cobalt a run...i was kind of interested to see how it ran.
