Angry Mechanic in Austin

Hey Guys,

My power steering just took a dive and emptied most of its fluid on my driveway. It was very surprising because the Z28 has been in the garage for about a month while I've been traveling. I pulled it out and was letting it idle for a while to warm up before I took it to be detailed. As I pulled out of the driveway, the steering wheel locked and wouldn't go any further. I popped it into reverse, backed into my driveway, shut it down and got out. There is a big puddle of power steering fluid sprayed on the pavement (aparently leaking out of the steering pump). It just let go while idleing... very weird. Never had any symptoms or noises or anything. The car has 50,000 miles on it. Anyway, I am about to leave town again and need a good mechanic (other than a stealer, I can stand GM shops). Anybody got any advice in the austin area?

Thanks

I have my 3rd Gen worked on at Gerry's Garage (in Round Rock). My family has taken their cars there for years. Gerry's son does most of the work (I went to high school with him) now, but the quality is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

It is a little "family garage" locted near the Dell Diamond in Round Rock. Phone: 512-255-7627
