I will be needing a 6 speed for my 95 ta after the first of the year.I was wondering if someone might have one laying around or know of a good rebuilder in the area (dallas).I have heard of someone from ft.worth named jason something but I cant remember his # or his business name.I was told he is one of the best and fairly cheap.Got any clues to who he is.

Dont tell me anyone in greenville is worth a ****,bucks,eagle,bowers,and all the rest suck.I have delt with bucks a few times with mixed results,and I know Don from past racing.He is a good guy but getting a bad rep from some of his rebuilds over the past year.I work at L3 and there are more than a few at work who will never use him again.But that goes for just about every trans shop in town.

And for what it is worth, Stacy when Tasco was still in business was the only way to go. Which he works in Rowlett or Rockwall now.

And what does your car look like?

 

I have the white 95 formula with the ta hatch.It used to belong to ginger from the old coras cafe.Ginger is coras daughter and you probably know what happened to cora.I havent done anything to the car ,YET.And I wont do to much just the usuall stuff,headers, bolt ons and maybe LE -1 after motor rebuild..Its just something fun to drive.I here this ls1 camaro belonging to cody converse rules the streets.I have been told its a high 6 second car on the motor.Thats to fast for my pocket book.How quick is your car?And would I know it?I am a little older and dont run the streets anymore but have some younger freinds who keep me informed.

 

I know whose car you have. That's Benji Killians old car. And I'll give you the bad news of the odometer has been rolled back. I think it was rolled back about 15k miles. It pisses me off that they did that and sold it like that. Clean car though.

And watch out, I programed that car a long time ago. It has a 7k rpm rev limiter, a little bit of timing in it, skip shift programmed out and all of the emissions programmed out. He was going to put a cam in it and some other stuff but sold it because he got poor.

As far as Converse, 401, ported 98 heads, hook supercomps, big *** stall, gears. The usual LS1 stuff. I wouldn't say he rules the streets seeing as how it very rarely comes out. Plus he doesn't take advantage of his stall and gears. He races from rolls more often. Eric has an 03 Cobra, 521rwhp. Ported blower, upper and lowers and tuned. They are pretty much neck and neck.

I used to be the "king" back in the day. 6 or 7 years ago. Used to have a lightweight 399 rwhp white 94Z. Ported everything of course and a little shot at times. Then I blew it up. Sold everything. I just pieced it back together from parts I had laying around. So it's a parts car. Stock motor with a cam that is way too big for it, longtubes, true duals. And that's it. I'll come back though. I gotta get my title back. lol. I also have that red 04 R6 and a black 93 camaro with some WS6 wheels on it. But that one has a flat cam in it.

And as far as the age, I'm 27. I don't get out much either anymore.

 

Yea I was told about the odometer from 96badbird(I think thats his user name he is from greenville too).I dont know who he is just meet him here on this site.He said it came from mckinney and had a bottle on it at one time.I can tell it has been run hard more than once.But yes it is still a nice car everything works just like its supposed to,except the tranny.It runs pretty good too so you did good on the tune.I have run 8.8@81mph at redline and 13.75@102 at ennis.It runs a little rich I have some black smoke out the exhaust when you romp on it.Hey do you still tune these obd-1's?I know who benji is but dont know him personally.I know he dirt tracks.I thought he had plenty of cash.I have also heard about this cobra it runs real well too from the rumors I was told.Ill never have the money to run with those cars.I have a 77 camaro that Im trying to get running right but it will only run about 7.7 on the motor. I dont know what it'll do on the bottle yet.I have been having a few problems that I am still sorting out.The combonation is a little off,not enough stall or gears.I havent put it on the street yet but it will pass inspection so maybe someday.

96badbird is Larry. Married life got to him too. I think the Cobra you refer to is Jason Wren's white 03 Cobra. It runs alright.

No on the cobra, I was talking about erics car that you mentioned earlier.I think I know the other cobra you are talking about.He also works at L3 and its white.And no I dont know kelly hass,really the only reason I know any of the stuff that goes on is from randy maroney.I work with him and he keeps me in the know.He is good freinds with converse and is allways bragging about how fast codys car is.Randy said he knew who jason wren was.I dont know any of the younger guys personally.I just love street racing and allways want to know who is on top.So with randy knowing most of the racers he lets me know.He says your name is brandon is that right?Says you know your **** from what he has heard. Yea married life with kids will suck the life right out of ya.No money for racing anymore it allways has to go towards the kids or bills.

 

Yeah, I'm Brandon. Good to know I still have some credibility! Most of the people that hang out are a new "crew" and have only heard stories about my car. Most have never seen it run. Do you know a Andy Adams. He works out there with you. Don't know what division or anything, just know he's an electrical engineer. He has all of that clearance. He has an 03 Cobra. Lay s out about 450 to the ground. He can't do too much though because of his clearances.
