LT-1 M6 starting problems
LT-1 M6 starting problems
Need some help guys...
This has happened twice in the past two days. I have a '95 Firehawk with a six speed and sometimes when you try to start it you get full power, but the car doesn't crank at all, as if the clutch isn't pushed in. Now, after trying a few times (10-15) the car will finally crank and start right up the first time it cranks.
I need to find out where the breakdown is. I'm sure that there is a switch to tell when the clutch is pushed in, I think that is probably my problem. Do these go out often? Has anyone else run into this problem before? Where is it?

Sounds like starter
The next time you have that problem get a friend with a small hammer and lighty tap the starter as you try to crank it. The light taps will jare the windings alittle until they roll over to the next contact.
