Must have intermediate level computer skills, a good understanding of networking protocols, specifically TCP/IP, and knowledge of Ethernet Cable Plants. Switch/Hub/Network design knowledge is a must. VLAN/SNMP protocols & interfaces will be used regularly. Windows NT/2000/XP knowledge is a MAJOR plus. Router knowledge, certifications, degrees all a plus, but experience will be the biggest factor. 2 years relevant experience or equivalent is required.

This position will include a wide variety of computer and network related functions, from punching down RJ45’s to configuring 2000+ subscriber proprietary server systems, and everything in between. An understanding of Telco circuits (I.E. xDSL, T1, ISDN, etc.) and installation of the supporting customer premise equipment, plus knowledge of data and Telco cabling schemes, terminations and data network hardware is a must. You will need strong customer service and communication skills along with a professional “can do” attitude. You will work both in the office and on customer sites. Our customer base is nationwide; therefore moderate travel will be required. The position included 24x7 on-call requirement on a week on – week off basis and will require the need to work with end users in a tech-support and customer service role. Though much of the work performed to fulfill this position will be done behind a keyboard, there will be the need to install equipment and pull and terminate cable from time to time.
