How would this motor do in my daily driver??

Here are a list of the mods on the motor i'm thinking about buying..

*Forged Wiseco Pistons with Wiseco Piston rings
*99 style Ported heads flowing about 260-275 CFM
*MTI B1 Cam 221/221 .558/.558 114
*GM main/rod bearings
*ARP Rod Bolts
*ARP Head Stud Kit
*LS6 Oil Pump
*918 springs
*Titanium Retainers
*CompCams Timing Set.
*Chrome-Moly Pushrods
*ASP Pulley
*160 Thermostat hypertech
*Crank Polished
*Balanced

Will it work well in my daily driver here in S.A.?? And what kind of numbers do you think it will put out?? thanks.

You shouldn't have any problems but you should go with a more aggressive cam if you're going to run heads. Do it right since you're also going with the forged internals. That way when you decide to do a stroker, supercharger, or turbo you'll already have the forged bottom end. JMHO. You'll probably see close to 400 at the rear wheels with a more aggressive cam, heads, and good tuning. At the least 355 to the rear wheels.

This comes as a package deal. I'll have to save up to get it installed and tuned, but i can sell/trade cams if i need to and those heads are ported some with a 3 angle job done to them. It will need a custom tune for sure and i'll probably get rob at axis to do it with ls1edit.

How much would you pay for this complete engine set-up?

If your a 6 spd car you should at least be around 380rwhp w/ those heads. Get some real heads (ie: gtp, mti etc.) and a little bigger cam and you'll be at 425+ w/ full exhaust and all the bolt on's.

First, Billy Bad, that motor will be very streetable.
Second, dang rick that is a long signature, especially since half of that stuff is "coming soon". Sure it is...

I've seen this motor for sale also. I would do some serious thinking about where you want to go with the motor. Forged pistons would be sweet with some juice or a little boost, but the flow numbers on the heads alone aren't all that impressive (compared to some of the heads put out by MTI, TEA, etc.). As Ben said, the cam is kinda mild...but a cam swap with the engine out of the car is very simple. So, my opinion is...if you're heading for forced induction or nitrous it would be a great investment. If you're going all motor, I'd go out and get youself some CNC ported heads and aggressive cam and throw em in your present motor. Oh, and I'm always advertising for AXIS...Rob is very experienced and very fair!!

Just my $.02

heads

the heads in that motor in my opinion would be a stage 1....with those and the B1 you'r probably around 380 rwhp
depending on your weight I would think with good tuning high 11's could be achieved....
Rick

ps. definately consider spraying that setup

I actually agree with Rick. Spray or S/C that. With everything forged, you won't have a problem at all.
