Help Me Find A Place To Camp!

Some friends and I have decided that we want to go camping on the November 5th thru 7th weekend and I'm planning ahead now. So I started looking around Central Texas state parks online but have not had too much luck finding everything we want in a facility. Coming from College Station I’d rather go somewhere in the Hill Country and I don’t really want to drive farther than 3 hours. We want a place that we can camp in tents, with camp fires and will allow us to drink alcohol. Past that all I’m really asking for is a cool looking place to hike, MAYBE swim and have a generally fun camping experience.

Any thoughts or Ideas??

I just transferred from Tech. I appreciate the comment but I want to stay the hell away from West Texas for a while.

We camped at a pretty nice place back in college at Lake Buchannan.

The only problem was there was a ton of annoying deer that expected to be fed every morning.

Yeah I'm looking at Pedernales Falls State Park. It may fit our bill.

Anyone been there?

Yeah, Pedernales Falls State Park rocks. It's nice out there. Also Inks Lake State Park is nice becuse you also have Longhorn Caverns right there. A little north of Austin (well, maybe NW) Is Colorado Bend State Park and from the pictures i've seen of it, it's very nice.
