300 DOLLARS?!?!?! Are you kidding me? WOW! My father rebuilds these things up to brand new shape(replaces anything inside that could wear) and backs them with a year warranty. He said if I wanted to tell you, he'll do one for 150 + shipping(he's in Dallas). These things are definately reliable, my family(including my dad) have been building for over 22 years now. They've got a great reputation around North Dallas. They also do alternators and anything else electrical.

If you still have a choice on what to get, I'd rethink my decision on 300 dollars, wow, that's a pretty penny But I guess that's what dealers get for them huh?

Kyle

EDIT: He said for a few more bucks he'd upgrade it to a 5-year warranty, he says these things are really reliable. Let me know.

Damn Bran...sorry, I just got your message yesterday. I was actually over your way the night you called, but was not in the condition to drive...

wait, that's the exact condition to be working on the car

Hope it's all back together and running soon

Bran's translation ==> soon = at least 1 year

Kyle, the $300 was for the starter AND a brand new Optima battery that was also fried. I appreciate the offer but both items are installed on the car already.

Ford, I put a hex on your car.

TRF, It's running NOW. I fired it up last night, reset the fuel pressure, fixed an exhaust leak, and now she's purring. Now if I could just get it over to Mike to finish tuning....................

Eddie, I appreciate the offer from you and KC but I just did it myself. Everything went fine. Thanks.

And you said you couldn't do it. Maybe you'll try installing other things now.

OK I just put my starter on today and remembered this thread when doing it... BUT theres another wire that looks like a ground with the group of wires that includes: purple starter wire, knock sensor wire, o2 sensor wire, and this other one.

its a black wire connected to a stud with 2 nuts on it. (no i'm not coming on to you, cheeky monkey) the motor is still out of the car so i can't see exactly where it lines up, but it looks like it should ground somewhere. any ideas?

Hey, I drive it. Just a week and a half ago I drove it.......into the trailer on its way to another speed shop. I even drove it back OUT of the trailer and into the shop. Nothing quite like blower whine, ORPs, and no plate in the Borla.
