Talking FS: LT1 rebuildable shortblock, good '95 4L60E tranny, & more

Hi guys,

I am selling the following in the Houston/Spring Texas/FM1960 area for LOCAL PICK-UP only please (sorry, I don't have the resources to ship items of this size/weight):

-LT1 2-bolt shortblock, standard bore, ready to be rebuilt/built-up. Build you a stout 355 using the included stock LT1 crank/rods, or use the block for a 383. Shortblock is still assembled, never rebuilt. I'm not an engine expert, but feel free to inspect it to your heart's content. It's in my garage, out of the elements and is on a small crate for easier moving. I was going to build a motor, but I've sold the car!!! So, this shortblock needs to go to a good new owner. Price: $250 cash and local pick-up only please
***SOLD, GONE, NOT HERE***

-'95 Goodwrench 4L60-E, rebuilt by previous owner of tranny. Supposedly has shift-kit, etc, and was built to be strong. The owner pulled it when converting his '95 Trans Am to a TH350 setup. I do NOT KNOW if it works on years other than '95... That would be an LT1 Tech forum question. I haven't any idea... I know it works with '95. I have no way to test out a transmission, especially since I sold my car. I will give you 21 days to install it and ensure that it works. Price: $300 cash and local pick-up only please
***SOLD, GONE!! (BTW, IT CHECKED OUT FINE ACCORDING TO BUYER)***

LOCATION/PICKUP DETAILS:
I'm in Spring, Texas (a North suburb of Houston). East of I-45, about 2 miles north of FM1960/Aldine-Westfield Rd (Timberlane subdivision). I don't own a hoist, but I MAY be able to borrow one from my neighbor to get the engine into your truck. The tranny can be 2-man-lifted into a truck/SUV.

PAYMENT:
Prefer cash for these two items. Paypal will eat up a lot in fees.

OTHER LT1 STUFF FOR SALE:
See this thread in the For Sale forum:

Thanks for looking!

Grendal,

How many miles were on the motor? Also, do you have an oil pan for it? How about an Opti-Spark? I had a mishap with my wife's car and blew the crank out the bottom. So I need some parts. Are you going to be around Saturday? I live in Waco so it would have to be the weekend before I can get it. Let me know. BranZ

I don't really know the motor's mileage. I bought it from a parts dealer about a year ago, planning to build me an engine. I ended up selling the car (can't afford to do it right now), so I need to sell the motor.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much a bare shortblock. No pan, no opti, just the block, crank, rods, pistons. I guess the parts guy sold everything else separately to make more $$. He was selling the heads then, too, but I wasn't ready to buy'em at that time.

Do you live anywhere nearby?

I live in Waco so it would have to be Saturday morning or afternoon before I get over there. I think I have located a stock pan so no big deal. I need a good short block to get me by for about a year. Trust me I will not be beating on this one. Let me know if what your schedule it like this weekend. BranZ

I'll be home Saturday til about 6:00PM (or I can arrange to be here anytime between 8am and 6pm). I have to go after that (date). I presume this motor came out of a running car (probably wrecked) and should last a little while, but of course I can't guarantee the compression level, etc. I've seen 180k LT1's with good compression, though. No way to test it without heads on it.

I'll PM you my cell # if you want to arrange it! Do you have a truck? How about a hoist? I can probably borrow my neighbor's, but sometimes he loans it out and it's not there to borrow. I can go ask him before Saturday.
