Denton Dragway

Is anyone planning on going out to the Denton Dragway tonight for Midnight Madness? I should be there in my slow car.

If I make it I will be in a black lt1 Z with a ultra Z hood on some chrome TA wheels..I just hope nothing blows up..... This will be my first time out in it. Sense I have owned the car I have only put 30 miles on it.

I was thinking about going, but then I started to think wheter I need a helmet or not...

On their website it says that everybody runnin 8.59 or faster needs one. Not sure whether I'd run that fast, of course, with just a lid and a cutout.

It would be about time to go, though. Never raced on the 1/4 or 1/8 before so I'm a total newbie anyway...

If I decide to go, I'll be in a NBM 00 Z28 w/chrome ZR1's and a CZ28.com sticker in the back window.

95GRNZ: Well, for what it's worth, they don't really enforce the helmet rule too much. If your head's not too big, you could always borrow mine for a couple of runs if they do make you wear one.

I plan on wasting as much tire as I can, since I'm getting a new set of rear tires tomorrow. Unless my brakes act funky (just did the LS1 brake upgrade and the brakes need to be bled some more), look for some big burnouts.

Thanks for the info, and the offer, but I opted out for a few cold ones, so driving is off limits for the time being...

I'll try to do that next Friday, though.

Where is Denton dragway, and how do I get info on what nights to go out and race?

I live in Keller, so it would probably be closer than Kennedale.

Thanks

Joe

www.dentondragway.com. I usually only head out on Friday nights for the Midnight Madness.

Did anyone else end up going? I had some horrible trap speeds. I don't know if it was the weather or what.

High humidity will generally kill trap speeds ...

And boy is it humid!
