Tony , I have 3.42 gears in my car , we were WELL past the quarter mile mark when you pulled past me !!! YOU"RE the one who said that since I pulled on you in the quarter and you pulled on me on the big end the "WE" would call it even !!! DID YOU NOT SAY THAT ???? We went on a roll with you in second and me in first , I was just topping out third gear when you came up beside me , so I know that we were WELL past the quarter !!! I never said that my car was faster than yours , but you also told a few people that night that I sprayed and that's why I pulled on you !!! ( YOUR WORDS !!!!!! ) The first comment was made in front of Thomas and the second you said in front of a few people at the car club. Now if I wasn't in front of you at the end of the quarter then when was it that YOU pulled on ME ???? I don't have the suspension that your car does and I don't have the gears that your car does , AND my car is STILL a DAILY driver !!! Now that you've gone to a Turbo 400 and a high stall convertor , is it still a daily driver ??? We can race again whenever you're feeling frisky , I run on slicks all the time now ( Except when it rains ) and I'll have all three stages of spray hooked up !! I've asked you to come into town twice now , so I guess this is your excuse to come on down and play !!! ( I still want you to race Stevan , AND YES my money will be on you !!!! ) Ed

I am torn right now between going with a th350 and a th400...why did you go with the th400 over a 350???
I have a guy waiting to swap his 400 for my t56...so please let me know soon!

Ed.......I raced you to the very top of my 4th gear which is a 1/4 mile! I pass the traps at 125 (n/a) at the top of 4th. I spun through 3rd gear and a little in 4th. Come on! give me a break. Street racing really sucks. A pinto could have hung with me that night on the street at least until about 60 mph. If I was actually getting traction, I would have left you behind from the start! And yes.....my car is still streetable....I start driving it next week everyday for two weeks to work and back(10 miles one way) because I am loaning my truck to someone. I still have a/c , cruise, radio/cd, power seats/windows etc. How is it not streetable now? I will drive it at least 3 or 4 times a week probably more. Im not bashing you or your car. It is very fast and I respect it and you. I respect you because you do all the work like I do! I will come down with stickum tires and you put on the same. Then we both will be putting the power to the ground and we will see what happens. It is always fun racing you! See you soon!

Rick....I really prefer to stay with my t-56! But.....I got to the point of too much power and torque. When you start twisting and breaking out-put shafts, driveshafts, 9" rearends, and torque-arms, that is when you have to upgrade to a stronger tranny and d-shaft. The Th-400 is a stronger tranny that should never give me any problems. The 4500 stall will flash at 4000 (n/a) and 4600 on N2o, while street driving the slanted angled t.c. drive will allow about a 3500 range of stall. I plan on going solid-roller next summer and maybe a 350-shot so I cant have any weak links in my drive-train. I think you should stick with the t-56! A LS1 does not have the torque that a LT1 has. You should be O.K. Hell.....keep that good gas milage while you can!

TH 400's are Much stronger than a th 350. My dad used to have a th400 in a chevelle SS when he was younger, and he told me that he tried to break it to see if he could. He would floor it in reverse, then switch to drive, and gun it. Never did ANY damage to it at all. They are BULLETPROOF.

the reason I plan to swap is I want a setup that will 60ft like a ****...yes a t56 can do it but I am lazy
My gas milage allready sucks...in part to the tuning still kinda $hitty and the fact that I have one hell of a lead foot...
I will also feel more comfortable spraying with the th350/400 than I would with a t56...miss-shifting is bad
Unlike most of you I am not really into the comfy daily driver thing, just want something that will rip up the track and possibly for once hook up on the street...
I was thinking of either going with a 3.73/4400 combo or a 4.11/3600 combo...what ya think?

Rick , the more gear you have , the less stall is needed. The more stall the less streetability your gonna get. I put a 3500 in my car last year when I rebuilt the tranny , and took it out the next day cuz I go to work on the bypass and I usually tach about 3100 to 3200 and the convertor wanted to go to its stall point and the more the torque convertor slips the more heat you have to get rid of , and I didn't want to burn the tranny up prematurely , so I put the 2800 back in it. Tony's car with the 4.11's and the 4500 convertor is going to be wicked on the track , but his car isn't going to like the hyway. I'm getting a 4L80E from a friend which is a T-400 with overdrive , then I can go to 4.11's and a 3200 convertor and have the best of both worlds ! Another thing to remember is that if your gonna spray , you're not going to need alot of convertor cuz nitrous builds a TON of torque and it makes most of it down low ! Look at Steve Faraday's setup , mild motor , mild gears and only a 200 shot to run low tens !! Ed

Ed.....I will be dropping to 3:73 soon! Just not right now!! I need dinero! I will have you out-stalled and and out geared but you will have me on bigger engine and lighter car. I think the highway driving will be fine.
