At this point, my goal is just to get it running OK for a while. I'll do crazy stuff to it later 
a fairly new 2.3l from Coverse Engineering will cost me like 400$ and I'll have that person I'm buying it from put it in, and have an OK daily driver for under 1000$

HRP !!! ??? Do Ya'll realize that there are track RULES to go by !!! My car is NOT track legal !!! It does't make much sense to trailer the car all that way and be turned back due to tech inspectors telling you that your car doen't conform to tech regulations !!! I built the car for the street !!!! Even if they let me run one time , it's still a waste of money !! I need a cage , a battery box , a driveshaft safety loop , a kill switch , etc. , etc. !!! Start running an 11:99 or better and see what I mean !! If I roll in with slicks on and two plates of spray and the sound of the cam , I wouldn't make it past the tech people , let alone make ONE pass !!! But don't worry , sooner or later I catch EVERYBODY on the street !!

and I WILL get one. I only need to pay half the cost. rememeber?
rick- is it also my desire to have my car leave me on the highway after hearing a KA-BOOM! then die?? and then see 50 other white 4th gen TA's Pass by while you wait for a tow truck. just not my cup of tea.
