Rick.

when you ran that 12.80 in the qtr, what was your 1/8 mile time and mph ? what track ?

i know you have the slip, but that mph seems a little low for a 12.8 et. most of the ls1 cars that i have seen running high 12's were trapping 108-109.

and the last time i ran you at the nasty, the best time i saw you run was a 8.8 at 83 or 84 mph. call me crazy but i have never seen a car that runs a 12.8 in the qtr but only runs 8.8 in the 1/8 mile.

are you going this weds. to get some times ?

i may come make a few passes since i finally fixed all the of problems on kendra's car.

If you judge a car by what he runs at Navasota youre gonna be WAAYYY off...I ran 8.6's in the summer heat at navasota with 2.1 60ft's....I ran the 12.8 at TAD a long time ago during a BCS caravan....I have the slip, and a Waco buddy has the vid if you are a nonbeliever......Let me know Jason...
ps. Didn't you build Mustangs? what experience do you have with fbods other than Kendras car???
Two diff platforms...
My friend in an lt1 ran 8.6's at navasota and still ran 13.9's at HRP.....there really isnt a set 1/8th time for a 1/4 time...just guestimates IMO

Rick
ps. 12.8 at 106 or whatever is actually kinda slow...there are plenty of guys running 12.5's and 12.6's at 108-109....then again there are also ls1's running 13.DOH! at 109 right Wes he he he

first off, there is a common multiplier that is pretty darn close.
1.55 x 1/8 mile time will get you darn close to to 1/4 mile time.
i can site you specific examples if you really want to see them ranging form 14 sec cars to 10 sec cars.

second you did not answer my question. what 1/8 mile time and et did you run on that 12.8 qtr mile pass ?

third why are you so defensive ?

when i raced you at navasota, you were on drag radials and you ran a 8.8? at 83 or 84 mph with a 2.0 60 ft. kendra's slow lt1 ran a 9.20 at 81 mph with a 2.40 60 ft on street tires. the mph shows that your car was making more power.

"I have the slip,"

then could you tell me your 60 ft, the 1/8 mile time and mph on that 12.8 slip ?

i do not doubt your time, all i am saying is the mph seems low compared to other ls1 that have went high 12's. with a low mph, it would indicate that your 60 ft would have to be really good like in the 1.7 range.

ET only tells you how good the car is hooking.

it is the MPH that indicates the horsepower.

as far as what i have built, why is that relevant ?

yes i have built mustangs.
and i have built more than one f body
and have even turned wrenches on on a 10 sec truck.

"my friend in an lt1 ran 8.6's at navasota and still ran 13.9's at HRP"

your friend must be experiencing a fuel problem to lay down on the top end at one of the best tracks in the nation.

what was his mph at nasty ?

so what do you expect your car to run at nasty weds ?

riiiiight, you build motors based on desktop dyno too i bet he he he jk

I will find the slip and show you on Wed or maybe post about it sooner when i find it, I am curious too to see what 1/8th i ran on that one ...
the LT1 guy is aggieZ28, he did not experience any fuel probs, just geared with 4.10's and ran out of oomph after the 1/8th i guess...he did run the 8.6 at navasota and the 13.9 at HRP
I am not being defensive...just stating my point...sorry if it came across the wrong way man
I have never ran better than a 2.0 60ft at Nasty...but I believe i might have ran a ~1.8 at TAD, not sure so don't wanna say i did...
Now quit talking smack to me Jason, I'm fixing to marry your cousin dude, almost family by now lol
talk to you later,
Rick

ps. I am going to Nasty to practice 60fts and have fun, if i do go all the way towards the end of the night i am hoping for low 7's...we will see, this is the first time i take her in full gear to the track with 4.56's...wish me luck

quit making excuses and pull that slip out of your wallet. you talk about it so much, i know you can find it easily.

low 7's ? WTF are you smoking dude ?

what tires are you going to run ?

and by the way how many motors have you actually built ?

and don't give me how many you WATCHED my uncle or cousin build.

the car had some issues if it layed down like that. 4.10 are not that much different from 3.42 as far as trap rpm. perhaps his springs were weak.

i seriously hope you meant to type low 8's and not low 7's, because there is no way your car will run a low 7 on MOTORat nasty. and you better not wait to far into the night, because the condensation will start building up on the track the later you wait, and we already know how much you car is attracted to guardrails

and you better make some full passes and no bs excuses.
you talk the talk, now lets see if you walk the walk,

my prediction

no BETTER than

7.8

ps: i thought you were suppose to be family a LONG time ago, or is that like your car too. ALL TALK ...

com'on you guys just chill a little. Rick, I have also seen many heads and cam cars run high 6s. There was one at Nasty about a month and a half ago so it is possible. Just get some traction man and show him how it is done.

Jason my cousin,

What is your deal, why are you being so rude to my fiance. And that remark about him being a family memeber, yes he will be after he graduates this year. Anyway that really has nothing to do with the whole subject about cars. So youhave built cars, why don't you have your own you have to drive your womans car. So what if rick has watched my dad and davey put together cars and talk to rick about it all the time. Rick does know what he is talking about. So get off his back. I don't want to have any problems in the family, but what in the hell is your problem with him????

your cousin,
jennifer

Jason,

Another thing what happens between me and rick is non of your consern. and I do not appreciate the comment you made about our relationship being all talk. We are getting married next summer. And the comment about his car being in the 7's was what my father said. He has built more cars than you, and knows what he is talking about and what he is doing. My dad drove ricks car and quote/unquote, this car is as fast as davey's last car so it will run in the 7's. so if you are saying rick is lying you are calling your uncle a liar also.
