Replaced my DS with a steel one...This DS did not vibrate at all and its very light weight. All you need is your yoke/u-joints.

Stupid question....

What's the differences between the steel and alum.? Just weight? Or is the alum. a lot better balanced or something? I'm thinking my stock steel one is what's vibrating up around 90-95 mph. Just wondering if an alum. would fix this.

Well the steel drive shaft is a lil stronger, but the Aluminum doesnt cause as many vibrations as the steel shaft does..I can feel a little vibe with my steel that I couldnt at all with the aluminum..Most Fbodies with steel shafts feel some vibrations above 80mph..Im willing to bet an aluminum shaft with new u-joints would fix your problem. And yes the Aluminum shaft is alot lighter than the steel.
I would still run the Aluminum shaft but when I installed the Moser 12bolt you are supposed to cut your DS down 1/2" and I was told shortening a Aluminum DS is not easy at all so I went with a custom built steel shaft.
