AIR and EGR delete/passing inspection

Have any of you guys been able to get an LT1 car without the EGR and AIR junk to pass the emissions test and inspection in one of the sniffer test counties, like in Houston? I wouldn't mind having to run through cats, but I'd like to ditch all of the junk under the hood and run some longtubes someday.

Thanks.

EGR is hidden from sight enough that it won't matter if it's not there ... The AIR pump and lines are a different story, though - you'd probably need a friend on the inside to get by without the AIR stuff.

That's what I was afraid of. I know that some newer cars (LS1's maybe?) do not have the air pump and lines, so I figured that the inspection guys might not know or care if they weren't there. I still want to be quasi-legal, I guess I might end up with the jet-hots that have the tubes still on there.

Some of the newer cars don't have the EGR anymore, but I *think* they all still use an AIR pump.
