ahart help!

i have a loud ****'ing clank from the rear of the passenger side over any moderate bump, and when i say clank i mean its LOUD. sounds like metal slamming metal, i looked around under but didnt see anytihng hitting, i kicked my exhaust to holy hell thinking that was it but it doesnt even touch. the sound is getting worse and worse... plus my car is starting to burn some serious oil (2001) so i know its time for the ring swap. i want to come specifically to you since i know that you know your stuff, what do you suggest i do?

Check your rear control arm bolts. I had an ongoing battle with mine, trying to keep it tight, for years until Ryan used an impact wrench to tighten it down. No problems since then.

good idea, ill check it when i get home tonight. ill use the impact gun on em too. but for some reason i doubt thats it, its more of a clatter sound, than a loud thump. its weird, and ive never heard another fbody do this

One of your rear springs may be off also or you could have some damage to the rear end. Just guessing.

Check the lca's and check the caliper bolts i have seen them come out on the new car's
it could be a spring like ben said they have been known to come out
for the oil if you want take as much as you can off the car so it wont throw flag at my work about the mods and i can start a consumption test

Hey Martin I still have a stock new paper filter if you need it just in case. I don't think they'll really worry about the filter though.
