25th Anniv T/A back from paint shop- thanks to all that helped

Just wanted to thank everyone that helped out on the wiring/opti/waterpump/charging issues on the 25th T/A.

Got the car back two weeks ago and got the stripes on and new interior in. Still have 100 little things to do that will keep me busy but for now it is a blast to take out.

I worked a Park Pontiac in SATX when these were new so I have wanted one since I was 16.

Anyway- here is a link to pics:

Thanks-

Jeremy

Beautiful car and great work!!! For a car like that I would take it back to the stock LT1 lights and pull those LS1 honeycombs. IMO they don't belong on a car like that as you ought to keep as close to authentic as you can. Good looking car and maybe I'll see you around - BTW - try and come to the Cars and Coffee next month at Uptown Park.

thanks- the LT-1 lights were trashed and I like the honeycombs better- not sure why.

I heard cars and coffee had a good turn out this week. a friend said there was a Can Am there. Mine is still in pieces but I get motivated whenever I see one.

Yeah, I wasn't able to go this week as my wife and I are closing on a new house now, so too much crap to do. Did you read the big write up in Pontiac HP a few months back about the Can Am? Pretty cool cars, but those grand ams from the 70's were just not my cup of tea and I can't stand the bananna boat look. Let me know if you head out next month as I'm gonna go if the weather is nice and maybe we can meet up with the boys to cruise in together.

You wont believe it but Chuck at Bear Creek Maaco did the paint and body work. This is the 9th car Chuck has done for me and the work just keeps getting better and better.

paint is Dupont base/clear. He did my 97 Ws6 Formula vert a couple of years ago and even after sitting outside for two years it looks as good as the day we sprayed it. We compared the paint to my friends factory low mileage Firehawk and the WS6 had a cleaner paint job.

Cool thing is Chuck is a car guy and he appreciates fun cars (has a LS1 T/A vert). He has my Can Am cut up right now and is replacing every panel on it.

I just picked up a black 02 firehawk that I am going to take to him next week.

If you want to check out his work you are welcome to check out the cars.

Louetta upholstery did the seats in record time. The covers are actually off of ebay but they did a great job putting them on.

Funny you say that- I am at my dad's and I had to put an opti in the Firehawk yesterday- never fun... no matter how many times you do it. Gotta thank Ryan for showing me how to do that 8 yrs ago!

Car still looks real good- kinda miss having it in Houston.

You still have the red T/A?

Here are a few pics of the Firehawk before and after paint and decals. these pics don't show the new interior that I got out of a totaled car.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3852929

Car is a lot of fun but having troubloe with the power steering-cooler went out, replaced cooler and pump; had the system flushed and it is still whining like a 5.0 mustang.

Still, damn fun car and I am very happy with the way it came out for what I have in it. Car appears to be real and have all documentation.

Hoping to make this car a nice day driver as the two more projects have shown up- 1970 LeMans and 1970 GTO. Both need total resto and have tight budgets.
