The 2011 Third Gen Roundup

The 2011 Third Gen Roundup

The largest gathering of its kind in the southern United States

May 21st, 1PM, Georgetown, TX

Please bring your 82-92 Camaro or Firebird and join the fun

The 2010 Third gen Roundup was a great success, we had 33 82-92 F-bodies there from all over the state, which made it the largest gathering of its kind in the southern United States! This year we are adding a group shot, high res car shots for each participant, and thanks to our corporate sponsorship partners, we're going to do a car show! Please join us at Duke's on the 21st of May this year for more food, fun, and F-body fellowship!

And if you don't have a thirdgen, But you like them!
COME OUT ANY WAY, And join in the fun!

Hello,
Did you reply over on TGO? The official thread is over there. So that we can have a better head count!

Or you can follow the links in here www.thirdgenroundup.com

And sorry what is "STS" units?

Re: The 2011 Third Gen Roundup

I just posted on TGO for Mark to add me to his list (no idea why I'm not on it yet, we decided months ago that we will host another statewide meet here in Central Texas ).

STS units are the famous Sequential Turn Signal units that you can install on your car to make your tail lights sequence with the turn signal. Just search TGO for STS and you'll find a bunch of videos. For illustration, here is a video of a Mustang with STS: [autostream]http://autostream.com/camaroz28/?page_type=firebirdplayerthumbnail&framepage=512&t ransactionid=1300200199-13016468184&posted_by=BigBadLou_camaroz28.com[/autostream]

Re: The 2011 Third Gen Roundup

Nope, nope, just the Sequential Turn Signals.
Are you coming to the round up? If you'd like a unit or more, let me know, so that I know how many to pre-manufacture. It's only 2 months away!

Not as hard as one might think:

I did it in a few hours (with great attention to detail, otherwise I could have done it in 20 seconds :-D ).
I used Testor's Candy Apple Red translucent paint and was happy with the results. I need to do some polishing, though.

Very good question. Never checked with the DPS or DOT but by following basic logic, I made a safe assumption that if other vehicles on the road can have red turn signals (see the GTAs), I am not breaking any laws.
I just could not bear looking at an orange turn signal on an American muscle car, for crying out loud. I simply had to fix that.

Back on topic: my car will be available to view at the roundup so if anybody has any questions about the tail lights, I can explain what I did and how I did it and can show the results in person.
